This attitude has been persistent in world history and religion and culture have always tried to reinforce this belief. The female sex is perceived to be weak and feeble, and this becomes the cornerstone of sexism. For this reason women face more domestic violence than men (Brinkerhoff, Lynn, Suzanne & Rose, 2008). The belief is so ubiquitous that from childhood the same attitudes are inculcated in children and this is how it has become a social problem. It is very important to identify sexism as a problem and only then a solution can be prescribed. The education system can play a key role in it.
